With final exams and the holidays on the horizon, this time of year can be a stressful. We asked members of the campus community to share their best advice to beating stress. Here are some of their suggestions:
  • Don't make changes to your life that are so drastic that the change itself causes you stress, especially if it means losing a source of relief, like exercise or social time.
  • Take time to sit with friends and just talk.
  • Try yoga, hanging out with friends and getting enough sleep.
  • Take a 10-minute walk—it's enough to get blood pumping to your brain but won’t derail your schedule or line of thought and doesn't require a change of clothes.
  • Get started quickly on a big project or test that is stressing you out with something small, like organizing notes or re-reading the syllabus.
