New materials for stronger wind turbines
UPI: Marcio Loos, a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering, and colleagues have built a lighter, stronger wind turbine blade that will allow larger turbines to capture more wind energy. It’s the world’s first polyurethane blade reinforced with carbon nanotubes.
