UCITE session: "Using Concept Mapping to Assist Students with Reading Difficult Texts"

EVENTS | February 1, 2017
STORY BY: EDITORIAL STAFF
The ability to understand and analyze scholarly texts and journal articles is a critical skill for students. However, many students have difficulty in reading and understanding this material. At the next University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education session, Dianne Kube, a biology lecturer, will illustrate how she uses concept mapping in her courses to assist students with this skill. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop to this event. The session will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Allen Memorial Medical Library’s Herrick Room (use Adelbert Road doors). Pizza and sodas will be provided. RSVP to ucite@case.edu.
