Roman Sheremeta, associate professor of economics at Weatherhead School of Management, is helping to organize a community fundraiser to help provide humanitarian assistance for the people of Ukraine. The event will take place Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Slavic Full Gospel Church, located at 5851 E. Wallings Rd. in Broadview Heights.

At the fundraiser, pierogies and baked goods will be available for a donation of any amount. Art activities will be available to facilitate fellowship and community building.

Event organizers intend to send a group of people including Sheremeta to Poland and Ukraine to help provide medical first aid kits and bulletproof vests. Their stated goal is to save as many lives as possible.
