University Marketing and Communications launches CWRU Newsroom
There’s a new way to keep up with what’s happening at Case Western Reserve University: the CWRU Newsroom.
Created by University Marketing and Communications (UMC), the CWRU Newsroom brings together the latest stories from across campus in one central hub. From groundbreaking research and student and faculty profiles to campus updates and community highlights, the CWRU Newsroom makes it easy to explore the stories that shape CWRU.
“The CWRU Newsroom is more than just a news website—it’s a look into the research, academics and community that drive our university forward,” said Erica Starrfield, vice president for marketing and communications. “It’s where you can find out what’s happening across campus, get inspired by our community, and explore the stories that make our university a force in the world.”
Stories in the CWRU Newsroom are searchable by topic category and by each of CWRU’s schools/college, so readers can quickly find what interests them most. Readers also can browse by broad themes—such as research and innovation, health and wellness, business and policy, or arts and humanities—or dive into news specific to each school and the college through dedicated landing pages.
The newsroom is designed to make exploring university stories easy and engaging by streamlining content from disparate university websites into one central location. Then, the content posted to the newsroom can be pulled through to other case.edu websites, eliminating the need to duplicate content and improving search engine optimization.
The site also showcases upcoming events at the university, and resources from CWRU’s media relations team—including information for faculty on scheduling media training and ways for the media to gain access to report on campus. The CWRU Newsroom will also be home to university magazines in the future. All articles are written and published by UMC staff and student writers.
Internal updates and announcements will continue to be shared through The Daily newsletter in addition to appearing in the CWRU Newsroom. Submit your items through The Daily form, which has a new home—and don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss a story.
As part of this transition, thedaily.case.edu website is now retired. If you visit thedaily.case.edu, you will be redirected to the newsroom website. Moving forward, content in The Daily newsletter will live within the CWRU Newsroom, making the new platform the one-stop shop for all university news.
