Walt Hunter named Samuel B. and Virginia C. Knight Professor in Humanities

Walt Hunter, senior associate dean for faculty academic affairs, was recently named the Samuel B. and Virginia C. Knight Professor in Humanities. His research and teaching explore poetry, prose and how writers engage with political and social issues through literary form, with expertise in American literature, global anglophone poetry and the contemporary novel. He also serves as fiction and poetry editor for The Atlantic, where he writes about literature, poetry and the role of the humanities in contemporary life.
