STORY BY: EDITORIAL STAFF
CWRU Weatherhead School of Management is amid an exciting transformation that builds on its legacy and positions the school for an even greater impact.
Weatherhead has long been a leader in innovation in management education—from pioneering leadership science and launching one of the nation’s first Executive Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Business Administration programs, to creating one of the earliest executive education departments.
Today, Weatherhead is called to lead again by reimagining the MBA for a modern world shaped by rapid technological change and societal shifts. Beginning next year, Weatherhead will offer a single, unified MBA: one curriculum, one experience—in-person and online. The program will be shorter, more immersive and focused on leadership, artificial intelligence and experiential learning. This shift means Weatherhead will no longer offer a traditional full-time residency program, focusing instead on a flexible, high-impact MBA aligned with the future of work.
The reputation of the Weatherhead degree must remain a mark of global distinction. To achieve this, school leadership has issued a simple prescription—to serve the real economy as its partner in tackling urgent challenges, from thriving in the age of AI to driving societal progress.
With these changes, Weatherhead will remain true to its mission of sparking innovation, shaping leaders and building networks that drive human flourishing.
