Reminders about Discover Days and the start of the semester

As you continue through the rest of Discover Days and prepare for the start of the semester, we have a few helpful reminders.

Meeting with your advisors

Tomorrow, Friday Jan. 12, you have a meeting scheduled with your pre-major faculty advisor. If you have questions about your meeting location, be sure to ask your orientation leaders for assistance. It’s important to please be on time for your meeting. As a reminder, today you received an email with your meeting time and location and it was also included in your packet when you checked in for Discover Days.

Additionally, you can also stop by the Undergraduate Advising Support Office if you have any questions for your four-year advisor. They will be available for drop-in appointments between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Drop-in conversations are typically for quick questions, 10-15 minutes in length.  Undergraduate Advising Support is located in the Sears Library building, room 340. If you enter off the Case Quad, you’re already starting on the third floor. You can find the office by walking directly to the end of the hallway when you enter the building.

You will also be invited to schedule your first on-campus meeting with your four-year advisor during the drop/add period, which is the first two weeks of classes. They will email you when it is time to schedule this meeting, but can schedule that now if you are ready via My Journey.

Dining and Meal Plans

While you’ve been using an orientation guest card for your meals throughout Discover Days, the official CWRU meal plan starts on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 4:30 p.m. Dining halls will be officially open at that time.  Also, since Monday, Jan. 15 is a holiday, the dining halls are operating on special holiday hours from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 16

Get ready for your first day of class! If you have questions about finding any of your class locations around campus, touch base with your orientation leaders and they can make sure you know exactly where to go. You can also utilize the campus map
