As you prepare for the first day of the semester at Case Western Reserve University, the Office of Greek Life encourages you to consider joining one of our 25+ fraternities and sororities on campus. Greek Life has been active on campus since 1841 and promotes the community values of leadership, scholarship, citizenship and ritual.

- Learn more about Greek Life and meet members of our fraternities and sororities.
- August 22: Greek Cookout
- Meet the chapters, play yard games and get more details on recruitment schedules.
Sorority timeline
- August 26: Charmed by Panhel
- Create your own charmed key chain and learn about primary recruitment.
- August 29: Fall into the Panhel Mix
- Build your own snack mix and learn about primary recruitment.
- September 2: Panhel Prep Party
- Build a recruitment goody bag with the recruitment team.
- September 2 and 4: Recruitment Orientation
- Must attend one session. Learn more about how recruitment works and daily plans. Receive your Day 1 shirt.
- September 5, 6, 12 and 13: Primary recruitment events
- Meet the sororities and learn more about their philanthropy, sisterhood and rituals. Each day, you visit fewer and fewer chapters to find your home.
- September 14: Bid Day
- Learn which chapter you are now a new member of and meet your new chapter members.

Fraternity timeline
- August 24 through September 13: Fraternity Recruitment
- Chapters will hold individual events on and off campus. You can go to as many or as few events with as many or as few chapters as you would like. It's choose-your-own-adventure atyle!
- September 14: Bid extension
- Starting at 6 p.m., chapters will be offering invitations of membership.
- September 15: Day of Silence
- Chapters will not reach out to participants, but they can reach out to chapters with questions.
- September 16: Bid decision starts
- Participants can start accepting invitations of members based on the chapter timeline.

Interested in the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)?
Many of the NPHC organizations—otherwise known as the Divine Nine or the historically Black Greek-letter organizations—are city-wide chapters. City-wide means that you can be a student at a variety of campuses within Cleveland and join the chapter.
The recruitment and new member process for NPHC organizations vary, though you can engage with members of the two organizations that currently have CWRU members affiliated with them (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.) during Discover Week.
