Ranking campus study spots by vibe

By Ave, Class of 2027

The Coffeehouse: 9/10

Indoor, outside, downstairs, upstairs! If you want a social study spot, share a pastry on the main floor while looking at community artists’ work. Not in a talkative mood? Head upstairs to the quiet floor for some more focused studying. The only (rare) vibe-killer here is how unpredictably crowded it can get once in a while.

Kelvin Smith Library (KSL): 6/10

Is KSL the perfect conventional place to study? Yes. However, it lacks any flavor! Plus, everyone there is in the depths of their OCHEM assignments, and that is definitely not a good vibe. But those collaborative study rooms do make for a great study party!

Ben C. Green Law Library: 10/10

Not only is this a hidden gem, but everyone who studies here says their productivity is through the roof! With the ambience of a magical historian, this library is certain to max out your learning and vibes.

First-Year Residence Hall: 2/10

In a pinch, your room is gonna be great, but why not get out and explore a change of scene? Not only will it help improve your focus, but there are so many great places to go on campus—take advantage of them!

Thwing Student Center: 7/10

With so many different rooms, floors and kinds of seating, there is truly something for everyone here! The mix of architectural styles also makes every place you sit feel different. Just be wary of club events—while they’re awesome, they’re not so perfect for keeping focused on Psych 101.
