About your class with Professor Punales-Alpizar | CWRU in Madrid students

You will be registering for four to five courses at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) during your orientation later this month. After enrollment in these courses, Case Western Reserve University staff members will work to enroll you in your CWRU course with Professor Damaris Punales-Alpizar, WLIT 388/INTL 388: Cultures in Context: Global Citizens—Spain.  This course offers a general approach to the history, art, literature, music, cuisine and social practices of Spain, as well as its influence on and interactions with other Spanish-speaking regions. It includes discussions of cultural values, traditions and contemporary issues, and incorporates media like film and music. The course meets weekly with required attendance.

WLIT 388/INTL 388 fulfills several Unified General Education Requirements (UGER), including a Communication Intensive course in the Written, Oral and Multimodal Communication skill area. It also meets key Perspective requirements, specifically Understanding Global Perspectives and Human Diversity and Commonality. Additionally, it satisfies a breadth requirement in Arts and Humanities. As a fully graded course, it counts toward your CWRU GPA and appears on your transcript just like any course taken on campus.
