As you prepare to begin your exciting new journey as a first-year undergraduate at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), it's natural to have questions about arriving, getting around, and settling into life in Spain. This article will guide you through what to expect with transportation and arrival logistics.
Arrival in Madrid: What you need to know
- If you're traveling alone and arriving in Madrid on Saturday, August 30, you’re in good hands! CWRU will arrange transportation from the airport directly to MiCampus. You’ll be met by CWRU staff or partners to make your arrival smooth and stress-free.
- For students who arrive before August 30 or travel with family, CWRU will provide designated move-in times to help you plan accordingly.
Stay tuned—specific instructions and times will be sent to you in early August via email. Be sure to check your inbox!
Getting around: Your Metro Card is ready for you
Navigating Madrid is simple, thanks to its excellent public transportation network. Even better, CWRU covers the cost of your transportation pass (Metro Card), so you don’t need to worry about setting that up. Metro Cards will be picked up in advance for all students by CWRU, meaning they’ll be ready when you arrive. These cards give you access to metro, buses, and commuter trains throughout Madrid.
