Fall 2025 arrival and welcome weekend info | CWRU in Madrid students

We’re so excited to welcome you to Madrid! Here's everything you need to know as you prepare for arrival.

Arrival and airport transportation

If you are arriving alone on Saturday, August 30, a Case Western Reserve University staff member will greet you at the airport and take you to your MiCampus residence. Next week, you’ll receive final details including phone numbers to contact upon arrival.

Saturday, August 30: Move-in at MiCampus

You will need to check-in with CWRU staff at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. or 3 p.m. local time. You can come at any of the times listed. 

Sunday, August 31: Welcome events

  • 11 a.m.: Grocery trip 1 (optional). Students only; meet in MiCampus lobby
  • 3 p.m.: Family Welcome & Orientation (Optional). Families only; meet in MiCampus lobby
  • 3 p.m.: Grocery trip 2 (optional). Students only; meet in MiCampus lobby
  • 7 p.m.: CWRU Welcome Reception. Students and families (students, meet at MiCampus at 18th), Only YOU Hotel Atocha, Suite 714*

*Note: Real Madrid CF plays this day—you won’t be able to attend both the game and the Welcome Reception.

Important dates and reminders

  • Saturday, August 30: Arrive and check in to MiCampus
  • Sunday, August 31: Welcome events for students and families (RSVP here)
  • Monday, September 1 through Thursday, September 4: CWRU Orientation
  • Friday, September 5: Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) Welcome Day
  • Monday, September 8: First day of classes
  • Saturday, October 18: Mandatory CWRU check-in and advising (no travel this weekend)
