Get to know the campus systems at UC3M and CWRU

This summer you have used your Roadmap to submit important information that prepares you for your journey at Case Western Reserve University. During your fall semester, you will continue to receive communications and updates for tasks that need to be completed on the Roadmap.

As a CWRU in Madrid student, you have also completed tasks within your Study Abroad portal. As you transition to Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) you still need to complete the following tasks:

  1. You will upload a return flight itinerary if you did not include the roundtrip itinerary in your arrival details.
  2. Upon return, you will complete the post-program evaluation.
  3. The Office of Education Abroad will check off your UC3M transcript as received, typically in late February, and then check off when the course approval form is sent to Undergraduate Advising Support for credit transfer.

In addition to the Roadmap and Study Abroad portal, there are additional systems at UC3M and CWRU that you should be aware of and get to know.

  • Sigma is the system you will use to register for your UC3M courses during the registration period, from September 2 until September 15 at 2 p.m. local time. Note the registration period is inclusive of the add/drop deadline for Fall 2025.
  • Aula Global, or “global classroom” in English, is the UC3M intranet and main online platform used for UC3M classes. Aula Global is where you’ll see your professor’s office hours, submit your assignments, and receive readings and instructions for class.
  • Student Information System (SIS) is used by CWRU students, faculty and staff. SIS is the university administrative system used for Student Registration, Student Accounts (Financial Information) and Student Demographic Data.  This is where you will register for your spring classes at CWRU.
  • Canvas is the main online platform used at CWRU for classes. Canvas helps you stay organized and connected. You’ll use it to see announcements, submit assignments, take quizzes, check your grades and more.
  • MyJourney is the scheduling system used by your four-year advisor, as well as career and internship consultants in the Career Center; pre-professional advisors for medical, health professions and law school; staff offering academic resources; undergraduate research; and study abroad advisors.
  • MyHousing is the portal to the online services provided by University Housing and partner departments. Through this portal you will complete the housing application, room selection, manage your meal plan and more.

As you settle into life at UC3M and continue your academic journey with CWRU, it’s important to stay engaged with all the systems and tools available to you, including your CWRU email. If you ever feel unsure about what to do next, don’t hesitate to reach out—support is always available.
