Welcome to Case Western Reserve University! We are excited to have you join our residential community for the spring 2026 semester.
Beginning on Thursday, November 6, you will have access via the Roadmap to the housing application process. You must first upload your CWRU ID photo and have it approved before you will be able to proceed with the housing application. Once it is approved, it will take at least 24 hours for the photo to be uploaded to the housing database.
Case Western Reserve University has a two-year residency requirement. All first- and second-year unmarried undergraduate students who do not live at a parent or guardian's permanent residence within 40 miles of campus must live on-campus and participate in the university board plan. If you are eligible to commute, you will need to complete a housing release request on MyHousing.
Housing application: This is the official application that indicates that you will be living on campus. On this application, you will choose your meal plan option and agree to the terms and conditions of the Residence Hall Agreement.
Vaccination status statement: Ohio Revised Code section 1713.55 requires that every student submit a statement on their vaccination status for meningitis and hepatitis B before they can live on campus. The form must be submitted online before you can continue working on the housing application.
Lifestyle indicators: This list of four questions about your lifestyle will help the housing staff when matching you with a roommate for the spring semester.
Room type preference: On the housing application, there is a section to request a room type preference (double or single room). Incoming spring first-year students will be assigned based upon what is open and available, while taking your preferences into consideration. You may be assigned to a room in either first-year or second-year housing.
Roommate preference: If you want to live with a specific roommate, please complete the information below with the student’s name and network ID (abc123). Your roommate will also need to list you on their housing application. We prefer to assign you to an empty double room, based on room availability.
The deadline to complete your housing application is Monday, December 15. Assignments will be completed by Tuesday, December 23. You will be notified by email and can also find on MyHousing your housing assignment details, including your roommate information.
