Duo Mobile: Two-factor authentication is available for Case Western Reserve University students at Single Sign-on and is required for various university system logins.
What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication provides added security by prompting you to enter a unique code at sign in, in addition to your passphrase. The unique code, generated by your phone, is used only once. You can prompt the code from a device of your choosing (typically your smartphone).
This service protects you from unauthorized access to your CWRU accounts in the event that a passphrase is compromised. To enhance our cybersecurity posture, older, less secure multi-factor verification methods will be retired in favor of Duo Verified Push.
When will you need to use two-factor authorization?
The following systems will require you to use the Duo Mobile app to securely sign into your accounts:
- All Google services including Gmail where you get your CWRU email.
- The Student Information System (SIS)
- The Human Capital Management System (HCM) where you enter hours if you are working an on-campus job.
- Stellic
- Canvas
- Tutor Trac
- MyHousing
- Accessibility Information Management (AIM)
