About the Program

With nine top-ranking specialties, Case Western Reserve University School of Law equips you for the evolving practice of law. Here, our renowned faculty will help you develop your leadership and interpersonal skills while honing your legal and research savvy. To best prepare you for your career, we emphasize experiential, practical training in all three years of the program.

What to Expect

Starting in your first semester—and continuing throughout your three years—you'll gain hands-on, professional experience. In collaboration with our renowned faculty, you'll work directly with clients, conduct research and prepare briefs for court cases.

In our Milton A. Kramer Law Clinic Center, for example, you can gain real-world experience in various areas of law, such as health, civil rights and human rights, immigration, IP, human trafficking and more.

"The personalized instruction I received allowed me to develop the research, writing and analytical skills that I use daily. I graduated with a diverse and well-rounded resume, a wide array of legal skills, and a rich network of fellow legal practitioners—all of which served me well in my career."

Learn Abroad

You'll have the opportunity to pursue semester abroad or concurrent-degree programs—immersing you in a foreign legal culture and exposing you to particular areas of law that you may not otherwise have the opportunity to explore. Participants cite several benefits to their careers:

  • foreign language proficiency,
  • an extensive network of contacts around the world and
  • increased confidence and problem-solving ability.
