About the Program

If you're interested in a career in corporate management, human resources or social services, dual Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees from Case Western Reserve University can set you apart.

In this dual-degree program, which can be completed in three years, you'll be prepared for advanced social work practice in a variety of direct practice and community practice settings/organizations while developing the skills you need to assume management responsibility with a social lens within those settings.

What to Expect

As you earn your MBA and MSW degrees through our dual-degree program, you’ll take a variety of courses at Weatherhead School of Management and the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, respectively.

You'll delve into the field of business administration with courses on marketing management, leading people and organizations, sustainability and social entrepreneurship and decision modeling, and economics and corporate finance, while your social work training will cover topics such as human development and diversity, social policy, assessing and engaging community for social change and research methods.

Ultimately, you'll graduate in three years completing 102 credit hours (51 credits per school) and the confidence you need to lead in a variety of organizations, whether corporate or nonprofit.

Admission Requirements

To enroll in the MSW/MBA program, you must apply separately to both schools and complete their respective requirements. We have streamlined this process for you. You will only need to submit one set of transcripts and references. When applying, please create only one application under either the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences or Weatherhead School of Management. On the "program details" page of the first application, you will answer a question about your intent to enroll in a dual degree. Your application to the dual degree will automatically be created once you confirm you intent in applying to a dual degree on the program details page. This will allow you to use the same application information for both degree programs. Admission decisions are made independently by each school. Start your application today.
