Carpe Diem: Get Your Business On

Work? Done. (For now.) Kids? With the babysitter. Friends?...Actually available! So how do you make the most of this much-needed free time? Make it as stress-free as possible with tips from Bac Nguyen (CWR '04), owner of Cleveland's trendy Bac Asian American Bistro & Bar.

If you want the best service, dine with a group of four or fewer, and never, ever go with more than eight, Nguyen says. Meals will be better coordinated in the kitchen, which ultimately means your food will taste better.

Go beyond your comfort zone to a new neighborhood in which you can spend the whole night dining, drinking, dancing, whatever it is you haven't had the time to do lately. Websites like yelp.com and urbanspoon.com can give great nightlife recommendations. "Be open to trying places you've never even heard of in that neighborhood," Nguyen suggests.

Instead of each person hoarding his or her own entrée, everyone should order different entrées and share with each other to get a little taste of everything. Plus, you'll get a better feel for whether you should spend your next free night, and when might that be, exactly?, here.

Have a problem? Tell a staff member. Simply loved your meal? Share that, too.

Enjoy yourself. "Don't make it such a rush," Nguyen says. "Allow yourself, and the staff, ample time to make the night a success."
