This summer I am... working a job

Where are you working?

I am working as an office assistant at the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) at their University of Michigan location. NSLC is an academic summer camp for high school students where they can explore different areas of study and live in dorms as if they were college students.

What do you do at your job?

I work in the office where I interact with both students and parents, answer any questions and assist with many other tasks, including completing administrative tasks, coordinating student arrivals and departures, and serving as a liaison between the NSLC on-site office and the host university.

How did you get this position?

I worked for NSLC last year as an office assistant where I split my time between UC Berkeley and the University of Michigan. They asked me to come back and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity!

What's your favorite part about the work?

As a future social worker who wants to work with youth and families, being an office assistant with NSLC gives me that perfect balance of interacting with both parties. I love working for NSLC, knowing that kids come with a passion and leave with so much knowledge.

Is there anything else you want to share about your summer?

I just graduated from undergrad at CWRU in May with my BA in Psychology!
