Almost two years ago, I was honored to assume the role of president of the National Association of Deans and Directors (NADD) with a clear mission: to unite national social work organizations to find common ground and amplify the transformative impact of social work in promoting equity.
This month, I had the privilege of collaborating with my esteemed colleagues—Dr. Halaevalu F. Ofahengaue Vakalahi, president and CEO of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and Dr. Ramona Denby-Brinson, president of the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR)—to lead a powerful webinar titled, “Safeguarding Social Work Education and Science in Uncertain Times,” on Feb. 11.
With 2,300 registered attendees, we received heartfelt feedback on how vital and timely this session was amidst the whirlwind of executive orders from President Trump that have created significant challenges for our profession.
Together, we are committed to fostering further initiatives that will strengthen and advance our field.
Stay tuned for exciting updates and opportunities to engage in this important work. Your participation is essential as we navigate these turbulent times and continue to elevate the profession of social work for the betterment of society.
