In 1984, a student-led dance performance titled SCANDALS…and Other Diversions premiered on campus. Conceived and choreographed by Janet Meskin (GRS '83, theater), the production launched a lively and enduring 30-year tradition. Today, MaDaCol (Mather Dance Collective, formerly known as Scandals) is one of the university's oldest and continually operating student-driven performance ensembles. Undergraduates manage the organization, while graduate students in dance serve as choreographers. Over the years, more than 500 dancers‚ including students, faculty, staff and community members ranging in age from 9 to 70‚ have come together to perform, collaborate and entertain.

The photos, courtesy of the collective, are from: 1984, 2009, 2014 and 1986.

Do you recognize yourself or others in these pictures? What are your memories of MaDaCol‚ either on or off the stage? Write to us at think@case.edu. We'd love to hear from you.
