Shelly McNamara (MGT ’91) has been selected for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business’s (AACSB) 2022 Class of Influential Leaders for her work in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

McNamara received her Master of Science in Organization Development and Analysis from Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management. She is now the chief equality and inclusion officer of Procter & Gamble (P&G), where she has developed leading strategies to make the organization one of the most innovative, diverse and inclusive companies in the world by transforming it along multiple vectors: confidence, capabilities, culture and record business results.

The annual Influential Leaders program recognizes graduates from AACSB-accredited schools who are creating a lasting impact in their communities, industries and around the world—and it spotlights the business schools that prepared them.

“Thank you for the nod of support from the CWRU team,” McNamara said. “CWRU shaped the way I think about organization and human development. The mindset and values I gained have since shaped everything I have done in my professional life.”

Beyond her work at P&G, McNamara serves as a member of the World Economic Forum’s community of chief diversity and inclusion officers, the Conference Board’s global diversity and inclusion executives council, the Cincinnati Chamber’s Minority Business Accelerator and is on the board of the Trevor Project. She is also the author of No Blanks, No Pauses: A Path to Loving Self and Others.

“We are so pleased that Shelly McNamara is being recognized by AACSB for her positive impact and leadership contributions in the areas of diversity, equality, equity and inclusion,” said Diana Bilimoria, professor and chair of organizational behavior. “Shelly’s compelling personal story of overcoming adversities, combined with the insights and experiences she developed from our Organizational Behavior Department’s pioneering program, have enabled her to contribute to shaping a better workplace for all.”

AACSB is a leading accreditor of business and management schools in the U.S. and globally, including Weatherhead School of Management.
