Finance Career Day Panel Unlocks Opportunities for Students

Experts sitting on a Finance Career Day Panel

This fall, more than 250 students gathered for a Career Day Panel focused on the finance industry as a part of the program’s Guest Speaker Series. Both graduate, undergraduate and prospective students were invited to discover possible opportunities in the industry and hear directly from professionals.

The event consisted of four panels surrounding different topics, including corporate finance, risk management, financial big data and recruiting. Discussions were facilitated by program director Michael Niro, and students were encouraged to ask questions throughout the panel.

Mandy Yang, a second-year MSM-Finance student, attended the panel and said her favorite part of the day was learning more about big data analytics, as it matched well with what she and her classmates are learning in the classroom.

“The speaker’s insights helped to show how data analysis works in the real world,” Yang said. “I’m now even more inspired to achieve my career goals.”

There were several opportunities between discussions and at the end of the event for students to network with panelists from companies including Goodyear, Cleveland Clinic, Progressive, Nestle, Vitamix and more.
