Case Western Reserve University and the Weatherhead School of Management will celebrate Employee Appreciation Day this year on Friday, March 10. Weatherhead will host faculty and staff for a gathering in the morning (Weatherhead faculty and staff can register to attend here) and the university will hold an event in the afternoon.

In honor of the day, Weatherhead is recognizing staff members throughout the month of March from a number of offices in the school.

One of these staff members, Steve Scheidt, has been with Weatherhead for almost a decade. Get to know more about Steve, director of admissions for the Part-Time and Executive MBA programs, and learn what his favorite memory has been at Weatherhead:

How long have you been with Weatherhead?

I joined Case Western Reserve and Weatherhead in 2014 on April Fool’s Day (no joke!). It has been a privilege to represent the university and the school of management ever since.

What is something that you find exciting working in Weatherhead?

The energy and intellect of our students. Their sense of purpose to learn, to grow and to make their mark in the world is nothing short of inspiring. I take pride in being part of such a diverse community.

What has been your favorite memory so far during your time in Weatherhead?

Graduation day is so special. It’s a ceremonious marking of commitment, drive, sacrifice and time. You can’t help but think about the many paths our graduates will take, and the countless people they will impact in their career and life journey.

What do you love most about working at Case Western Reserve?

Being surrounded by people who care––people who truly believe that what we do matters. Because it does. Connecting with alumni is also a real treat.

What is your favorite thing about living in Cleveland?

Getting into ‘east side/west side’ conversations is always fun!

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Be kind. Be genuine. Look for the good in people. And don’t forget to feed your own soul along the way.
