patient care. ASLME offers 2 nationally known peer-reviewed
journals, as well as national conferences on emerging topics

American Society
for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH)
The American Society for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH) is
a professional society of more than 1,200 individuals, organizations,
and institutions interested in bioethics and humanities. This
Web site, established in January 1998, is intended initially
to serve as a source of information about ASBH for members and
prospective members. It also will serve as a resource for anyone
interested in bioethics and humanities by providing a group
of further on-line resources and links to aid finding other
related information through the Internet.

Ethics National Association (ARENA)
ARENA is a national service organization for professionals concerned
with issues relating to the protection of human subjects, the
humane care and treatment of animals, scientific misconduct,
eithical decision-making in healthcare, and other ethical issues
pertaining to biomedical and behavioral research.
The Bioethics
Network of Ohio (BENO)
The Bioethics Network of Ohio (BENO) is a non-profit organization
founded to provide information, promote knowledge and improve
practice among persons concerned with bioethics. The network
is comprised of individuals and institutions. It promotes collaboration
and communication among its members on bioethical issues, and
serves as an educational resource for both professionals and
the public.
EDUBIOETHICS
EDUBIOETHICS will improve the existing educational programs on bioethics between 11 international University teams by providing a multicultural, multidisciplinary and multi-religious approach. Three main topics will be addressed: beginning of life, organ transplantation, and end of life.

Bioethics Advisory Commission (NBAC)
The NBAC provides advice and make recommendations to the National
Science and Technology Council and to other appropriate government
entities regarding the appropriateness of departmental, agency,
or other governmental programs, policies, assignments, missions,
guidelines, and regulations as they relate to bioethical issues
arising from research on human biology and behavior. The NBAC
also identifies broad principles to govern the ethical conduct
of research, citing specific projects only as illustrations
for such principles.
