Students using HoloLens

Innovation is a cornerstone of medical education at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.  We are currently exploring the ways in which 21st century learners thrive. Needless to say, innovation must be preceded by evaluation.  Dr. Wish-Baratz is deeply involved in both medical education innovation and its evaluation. Multiple studies of the efficacy of HoloAnatomy and HoloNeuroanatomy preceded their implementation and continue to be of great value as we learn new and different ways to teach and learn with these modalities. Additional studies have focused on curricular changes, the value of 3D printed hearts in the understanding of echocardiography and more.  Students are encouraged to identify topics that resonate with their professional ambitions and turn the anatomy faculty who can assist in converting these ideas into studies that are subsequently translated into curricular innovations, presented at professional meetings and published in professional literature.
