Event Description
Why have the problems been so intractable and how can we do better?
The Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing welcomes The Measure of Our Age author MT Connolly, JD, on April 26, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Health Education Campus at Case Western Reserve University and virtually.
During this lunchtime talk and discussion, we’ll examine the roots of mistreatment in long-term care, including nursing homes, assisted living, CCRCs and other residential settings. Why have the problems been so intractable and how can we better address them?
MT Connolly is an elder justice expert awarded a MacArthur "genius" grant for her work shaping policy, research and practice for decades. Her book, The Measure of Our Age: Navigating Care, Safety, Money, and Meaning Later in Life, chronicles the decades-long struggle to improve long-term care. Connolly was architect of the Elder Justice Act and founded the DOJ’s Elder Justice Initiative.
