I have been a CWRU employee since 2013 in the Animal Resource Center (ARC) as a veterinary technician. Now I am also taking undergraduate classes part-time to earn my BS in biology, with graduation planned for 2024. My CWRU achievements include an Outstanding Junior Award from the College of Arts and Sciences (2020), and the Ignacio Ocasio Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award (2018).
I have lived in the Cleveland area (Mentor and Painesville Twp.) for most of my life, except a few years in Cincinnati and a year in Puyallup, WA. Outside of work and school, I have exhibited Finnish Spitz in AKC shows for over 20 years. I’m a huge sports fan, and I love sci-fi/fantasy/superhero movies.
I graduated from Tri-C in 2013 with two associate degrees: science and applied science (veterinary technology). Through the ARC, I am a member of the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science, and have earned their Registered Laboratory Animal Technologist credential.
I was invited to work with the Atit lab when Dr. Atit and I were passing through the locker room of the Wolstein animal facility. I mentioned taking classes at CWRU and wanting to do undergraduate research later. Dr. Atit has been teaching me about research techniques and processes in the lab, and I have been able to assist the lab with my animal skills.
