Gerald Mahoney

For three decades, Gerald Mahoney has dedicated his academic career to researching and teaching about parent and family influences on children’s development and social and emotional functioning. Mahoney serves as the Verna Houck Professor Emeritus at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, where he played an active role in the university’s Program for Autism Education and Research. He has published numerous studies on parent influences on the development of children at-risk or with disabilities and on the application of research findings from the parent-child literature to early intervention practice.
