Kazuo Inamori

Kazuo Inamori founded the Kyocera Corp., a ceramics and electronics manufacturing company, and forged a legacy of ethical leadership. In 1984, he founded the Inamori Foundation, which awards the annual Kyoto Prize to individuals who have made significant contributions to the sciences, culture and humanity overall. 

Through a $10 million gift, he helped found the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence at the university, which awards the yearly Inamori Ethics Prize to leaders whose actions and influence have greatly improved the condition of humankind.
