Case Western Reserve University School of Law Co-Deans Jessica Berg and Michael Scharf have been selected as the recipients of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation’s 2024 Richard W. Pogue Award for Leadership and Engagement. This award was first presented to Dick Pogue in 2015 in recognition of tremendous contributions to the legal profession and the civic arena.
“We are extremely humbled to be selected for an award named for one of the City’s greatest living civic leaders,” said Scharf. “And we are honored to be in the same group as those who have been recognized in prior years,” said Berg.
Previous recipients of the Richard W. Pogue Award include Sherwin-Williams’ Executive Chairman, Chris Conor (2016); KeyBank’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Beth Mooney (2017); RPM’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Frank Sullivan (2018); K&D Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Karen Paganini (2019); Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Solomon Oliver (2020); CEO of the Diversity Center, Peggy Zone Fisher, and Dean of the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Lee Fisher (2021); and Chairman and CEO of Oswald Companies, Robert J. This award will be presented to Berg and Scharf during the CMBA’s Rock the Foundation, an annual fundraising event which raises money for pro-bono, public service, community and diversity programs operated by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Rock the Foundation will take place from 6-9:00 PM on Feb. 17, 2024, at the Music Box Supper Club.
