Allen County - April 7, 2021

Effective Reproduction Number (Rt)

After climbing through most of March Rt briefly spiked to approximately 1.3 at the end of the month.

Projected Incidence

Case numbers are expected to decrease minimally in the coming 2 weeks, but there is some uncertainty given sporadic patterns of reported cases in the county and small population size.  Continued masking and social distancing will be critical to preventing increases.

Asymptomatic to Symptomatic Ratio

The ratio of asymptomatic to symptomatic cases appears accelerated during the second half of March, peaking at a moderately high level of around 0.75 at the end of the month.   A low ratio of asymptomatic to symptomatic cases facilitates mitigation efforts since symptomatic individuals usually isolate.
