Allison obtained her BSW from Bowling Green State University then went on to the Advanced Standing Program for Social Work at Case Western Reserve University to get her MSSA. She has worked as a clinical social worker in Cleveland, New York City, Washington DC, Bethesda, and St. Louis.

Allison started building a brand new program in the fall of 2022 to provide bereavement support to families who have lost a pregnancy, baby, or child within the University Hospitals system. This program includes tangible items for memory making, grief support in the hospital as well as follow up support, and linking families to bereavement resources both locally and nationally. She has also worked to build bereavement education and support for staff.
