Edwards Scholar, Jessica Pham, Inspires Future Doctors

Jessica Pham, Case Western Reserve University freshman and 2016 Joan C. Edwards Scholarship recipient

Jessica Pham, the 2016 Joan C. Edwards Scholarship recipient, returned to her high school alma mater, Cleveland School of Science and Medicine (CSSM), to address the freshman class on the night of their White Coat Ceremony.  This momentous occasion celebrates the accomplishments of the incoming 9th grade students.  As a freshman undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University and alumna of CSSM, Jessica Pham serves as an example of future achievements each newly coated CSSM fresehman could attain.  After being introduced by the current Health Profession Pipeline Program (H3P) President, Joshua Phelps, Pham took the stage to share about her journey toward a career in medicine.  She reflected on her decision as a young girl to be part of the medical profession, a decision that eventually led her to CSSM as a 9th grader.  She reminisced about her own experience at her White Coat Ceremony, saying, "Although this moment was one of an accomplishment and fulfillment for me, it also signified the beginning of a journey."
