Cleveland School of Science and Medicine Students In-Person at the Health Education Campus After 2 Years

The HEC is hosting a group of inquisitive 11th-grade students from the Cleveland School of Science and Medicine, a high school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, that are participating in the Cardiovascular Inquiry Seminar Series (CISS) from February 14-March 16, 2022. Launching in 2012, the CISS is a four-part lecture series curriculum designed by SOM faculty and students that aims to expose high students to case-based IQ small group learning.

Twelve students from the Cleveland School of Science and Medicine, a portfolio school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, have been visiting Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine to participate in a month long Cardiovascular Inquiry Seminar Series (CISS).  Hosted in the new Health Education Campus, the high school students experience informative lectures with mock patient interviews designed and delivered by current medical students.  This year the program welcomed Dr. Jose D.

The Cleveland School of Science and Medicine, one of the innovative programs in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, hosted the first year class of 36 physician assistants from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine on Thursday, October 25th, 2018.  Members of the high school's Health Profession Pipeline Program (H3P) club hosted the PA students and showed them a day in the life of a high school student in Cleveland.  The ultimate goal of the event was to encourage a connection between the two institutions that would broaden the high school students' exposur
