Are you ready to declare your major?

As a first-year student, one of your big milestones is declaring your major or minor, and starting Oct. 1, you can do it all digitally through Stellic!

  • Submit program requests: Easily add, drop, or modify majors, minors, or concentrations
  • Stay updated: Track the approval status of your request as it moves between your four-year advisor and academic representatives. Once the request is submitted, it will go through an electronic approval process, so ensure that you leave adequate time for your request to be reviewed and processed.

Find step-by-step instructions on the Undergraduate Advising Support website.

If you aren’t quite ready yet, that’s okay!  You have until March 1 to declare your major. Here are some tips and events to consider:

  • Review the list of majors and minors. Learn about programs of interest by reading about them on the General Bulletin, reviewing department websites, or researching career interest areas from the Center for Career Success.
  • Check out upcoming Explore events that are designed to help you explore your interests; filter by the event tag “Series: Explore Academic Programs.”
  • Follow up with the academic representative for your potential major(s) to seek additional information.
  • Speak with your four-year advisor and pre-major advisor to further develop your plan to explore your interests and clarify your goals.
