American oligarchs: Money in politics

NBC News: Matthew Lacombe, assistant professor at the College of Arts and Sciences, discussed the concept of “stealth politics,” an idea that a small group of the billionaire class control much of the policy and decision-making in American political discourse, made possible from multi-million-dollar donations to political campaigns. “An overwhelming majority of (billionaires) stay totally silent or completely vague about their political preferences and policy wishes,” he said. “Moreover, we find that many of them take political actions that would push economic policies in conservative directions.”
