Associate Dean Andres Pinto appointed to the Commission on Dental Accreditation board
Andres Pinto, DMD, associate dean of graduate studies and chair and professor of oral and maxillofacial medicine and diagnostic sciences at the School of Dental Medicine, has been selected from a national
pool to serve on the board of the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
“Dental education is at a crossroads, and I hope I can assist our profession in building innovative
approaches to education in all fields of dental medicine,” Pinto said. “This appointment allows me to enhance not only my contributions and expertise to the group, but also to share the great journey I have had at Case Western Reserve.”
CODA is the sole accreditation agency for dental and dental-related programs across the United States. The organization develops and implements accreditation standards to promote and maintain the quality and development of dental education programs. Nominated by the American Academy for Oral Medicine, Pinto will serve on the commission for a term of five years.
