The search for dark matter takes a tantalizing turn, but one Northeast Ohio scientist has questions

Ideastream: Stacy McGaugh, professor and director of astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences, remains skeptical of the theory of dark matter after researchers in Montana claim to have captured the first potential interaction with the mysterious particle that many astronomers believe makes up 85% of the universe. “The scientific method says we should give preference to the theory whose predictions come true, and for galaxy dynamics that’s modified Newtonian dynamics, not dark matter,” McGaugh said.
