Become a 2025-26 Civic Engagement Scholar

CAMPUS + COMMUNITY | September 3, 2025
STORY BY: EDITORIAL STAFF

Are you volunteering or planning to this year? Do you want to be recognized for your outstanding commitment to the Case Western Reserve University community—and beyond? Consider participating in the Center for Civic Engagement and Learning’s (CCEL) 2025-26 Civic Engagement Scholars program.

Open to undergraduate and graduate students of all majors, those part of this flexible program will have the opportunity to:

  • Volunteer with one (or many) nonprofit organizations;
  • Participate in CCEL-hosted experiences; and
  • Explore volunteering opportunities of their choice.

Scholars also will have the opportunity to select a civic engagement activities track of 25 or 45 hours, which can be switched at any time. CCEL tracks and reviews hours and works with each scholar to ensure they’re able to successfully complete the program.

Students who complete the 45-hour track can have their service counted toward the UGER local and global perspective.

To get involved in this opportunity, complete the Civic Engagement Scholars enrollment form by Wednesday, Sept. 17.
