Starry skies may guide Bogong moths home
The New York Times: Roy Ritzmann, professor of biology at the College of Arts and Sciences, weighed in on the Bogong moth possibly being the first invertebrate to use the starry night sky for migration. Ritzmann suggested the insects use a set of internal compasses guided by the Earth’s magnetic field.
