Evelyn Adkins, PhD, associate professor and chair of the Department of Classics, co-edited a volume titled Materiality and Ancient Narrative, published in December. Her co-author was Edmund P. Cueva of University of Houston-Downtown.
This volume includes 14 original contributions, including an introduction co-written by Adkins and a chapter written by Adkins and Mark D. Hammond, a lecturer in the Department of Classics. Their writing examines material culture, materiality and sensory experience in ancient Greek and Roman novels and related works of narrative prose.
