The Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation Lecture in Bioethics will be held at the next Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program event Sunday, Feb. 7, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Siegal Facility in Beachwood (26500 Shaker Blvd.).
Paul Root Wolpe, the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Bioethics, the Raymond Schinazi Distinguished Research Professor of Jewish Bioethics and the director of the Center for Ethics at Emory University, will present “Ending Suffering By Ending Life: The Dilemma of Saul.”
The question of whether it is morally permissible to intentionally end a life of suffering has ancient roots, yet is a modern dilemma. This lecture will discuss the case for and against ending suffering by intentionally ending life, and the possible future of the dilemma in the United States.
General admission is free, but preferred seating is available for $18. Registration is available online.
This activity may be used as self-directed learning to apply toward Category 2 Continuing Medical Education requirement for re-licensure.
