cleveland.comDavid Crampton, associate professor at the Center on Poverty and Community Development, noted that for many youth involved in the juvenile justice system, the pathway into delinquency begins with a traumatic experience.

“Trauma is the story,” he said. “We can put these kids in juvenile detention, or residential care, but if they don’t get help with their trauma, they’re not going to get better.”
