Dr. Amy Acton, former Director of the Ohio Department of Health, delivered the 2023 served as the Law-Medicine Center’s 2023 Schroeder Scholar in Residence. Her lecture was entitled “The Leader We Wish We All Had Is YOU: Insights from the COVID-19 Pandemic.” Dr. Acton gave a first-hand account of serving in the critical role of Department of Health Director during the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic. She gained national prominence thanks to her daily afternoon briefings alongside Governor Mike DeWine. Dr. Acton has won several awards for her leadership during that difficult time.
