As a part of Bioethics Day, Gerrit Kimsma will give a talk on euthanasia and its associated movements.
Kimsma is a Dutch general practitioner who has been deeply involved in the development and regulation of euthanasia in the Netherlands. Euthanasia traditionally has been performed by physicians only; however, citizens' groups are pressing for more control over the process, largely excluding physicians.
Kimsma will discuss this movement on Monday, Oct. 28, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in DeGrace Hall, Room 312. The talk will be preceded by a reception at 4 p.m.
This event, sponsored by the Undergraduate Bioethics Society and the Department of Bioethics, is free and open to the public.
