Economics’ Jonathan Ernest says Ohio gas-tax suspension will offer drivers some relief
Ohio lawmakers approve 90-day gas tax suspension
WKYC: Jonathan Ernest, assistant professor of economics at the Weatherhead School of Management, said Ohio’s temporary gas-tax suspension may not translate into the full 38.5-cent-per-gallon savings because lower prices could increase demand. He estimated drivers might save roughly $4–$7 per average fill-up, while noting the policy would still provide some relief.
