This startup is growing mini-livers to keep patients alive

Fast Company: James Anderson, Distinguished University Professor emeritus at Case School of Engineering, praised a Chicago-based biotech company's novel approach to treating liver disease. “They picked an organ that can reproduce itself,” he said. The startup aims to grow mini-livers with its 3D-printed scaffold to sustain patients until recovery or a transplant.
