John Bickers, the Jesse Hauk Shera Assistant Professor in the Department of History, recently earned accolades from the American Journalism Historians’ Association.
Bickers co-authored “War Chief, Friend of the President, Prohibitionist: Would the ‘Real’ Little Turtle Please Stand Up?” with Melissa Greene-Blye, the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communication and affiliate faculty in Indigenous Studies at the University of Kansas. It was published in American Journalism (Vol. 40, No. 3).
They received the 2024 Best Article Award for their paper.
